If the Flyers hope to win Game Two of this Eastern Conference final, these are the keys that they have to follow:
Knuble: Mike Knuble needs to get to his office in front of the net. If he can't create traffic in front of Marc-Andre Fleury, then no one will be able to, and Fleury will be able to see every shot. No goals are scored through an offensive setup unless the Flyers create traffic for the puck to go through.
Smith and Hatcher: Captain Jason Smith and Derian Hatcher must continue their role of clearing the front of the net for Martin Biron. Biron has done well in being superhuman and stopping many shots, but you can't stop a shot if you can't see it. Smith and Hatcher have to make sure the front of the net is clear.
Defense: This is a very general key, but the Flyers lacked basic defense in game one. On an odd man rush, the defenseman has to take away the pass either by going down or covering the odd man. The defense has to trust that Martin Biron will stop a quick wrist shot, because if you don't have confidence in your goalie, you won't have the confidence to play well.
Contrary to popular belief, the Flyers do have a chance to win this game. Do I think it will happen? No, not by a long shot, but they must continue to play their game. They won two rounds as underdogs, so this is nothing new to them.
