According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets have fired the Vice President of Development, Tony Bernazard.

The move comes days after allegations that Bernazard challenged members of the Double A Binghamton Mets to a fight following a tough loss and accusations of underage drinking.

Soon after news broke that Bernazard also had a heated confrontation with Mets closer, Francisco Rodriguez on the team bus in Atlanta.

From the Mets point of view, the firing was a must as the news media, fans and even players themselves have been calling for the axe for days.
