Wigan 0

Manchester United 2

There was a nervy start to game from United's point of view as Wigan looked like a daunting side to face. However, Manchester wethered the storm and scored through a controversial penalty commited by Ronaldo. On the other side, just moments earlier, a clear hand ball off Ferdinand was overlooked by Steve Bennett.

The game was delayed by a few minutes, thanks to some late arrivals to Stamford Bridge from Chelsea. United looked more settled in the second half, but Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez were kept off the score sheet by excellent saves from Chris Kirkland. The introduction of Ryan Giggs was greeted with cheers from the United supporters and he reciprocated by scoring a brilliant goal with a coolly placed shot to seal the title for United. Wigan was wasteful in a couple of excellent chances.

Sir Alex's side lifted the trophy for the tenth time in sixteen seasons, a truly incredible feat.

Chelsea 1

Bolton 1

Chelsea was late at arriving on the pitch as they delayed the match start by three minutes. Bolton however looked unfazed. Didier Drogba missed a sitter of a goal early on in the first half and Chelsea was clearly the more dominant side. Skipper Terry injured himself after a collision with Petr Cech. A long forgotten Andriy Shevchenko was introduced in the second half and made his presence felt by scoring off a bad attempt by Frank Lampard.

Bolton had their own share of mind games to play as they arrived late in the second half. However, they were not going to give up without a fight. They managed to get one through the legs of Cech and snatch a point from The Bridge. Chelsea lost the title on points.

United won their 10th title and they deserved it. The confidence at Old Trafford is high as they ready themselves to face Chelsea in Moscow on the 21st of May.

Hats off United..!!
