The Washington Wizards opened the season Wednesday by visiting the Miami Heat, who were mercifully without the services of LeBron James, but Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade played big enough down the stretch to provide the Eastern Conference champs a 107-95 victory.

Bosh tallied 26 points and 15 rebounds, while Wade scored 21. Norris Cole, making only the 13th start of his career, set a career-high with 21 points.

Drew Gooden shared Washington's team-high with Marcin Gortat at 18 points apiece. Paul Pierce looked strong with 17, and John Wall put up a a double-double of 16 points and 11 dimes.

The Wizards stay in Florida and visit the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. The Heat get a couple of days off before visiting the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
