My Dear Jane Letter to Baseball and Basketball
I need you to come in and have a seat, we need to talk. I have been meaning to do this for a while.
I haven’t been around a lot lately, and you have probably noticed me becoming more distant. Ever since we reunited in February, I thought I could stick it out this year. The truth is I can’t give you the commitment you deserve.
I have reconnected with some old friends and met new ones, all because of you.
I simply can’t do this anymore. We have been living a lie for some time, and it is time to move on for good. You must be suspicious of the rumors. I am sorry, but it’s true, I am leaving you for the Saints. The NFL and the Saints in particular have always been my one true love. They were my first you know?
I can tell you that I will miss you. March Madness wouldn’t have been the same without you. The NBA finals are one of my fondest memories. Then we had the CWS together. What a special time that was. We’ll always have that night we stayed up drinking tequila, and LSU winning again!
Then we had the MLB All star game. I will cherish that week in July.
There is something else you should know – over the years there have been others. Then there was that weekend with Hockey. I’d rather not go into it, I was very drunk, it really didn’t mean anything. When I am with Football, I can be the real me.
It really is my fault; this has nothing to do with you.
I hope we can still be friends.
I do not know about you, But, I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!
Camp starts this week.
