Why The Last 2 Games Are Key For The Raiders Success In 09
Russell got all the receivers involved, by completing passes to Higgins, Schillens, and Miller. Higgins showed off his game-breaking ability on another punt return for a TD and McFadden got involved in the offense early. Instead of the Raiders playing like another season was lost, they fought through like they had a chip on their shoulder, and Tom Cable was coaching for a job for the 09 season. Jamarcuss had a great game and his timing with his young receivers has gotten better each game. Higgins is explosive every time he touches the ball, and Schillens is looking like our number one guy.
Week 17: Raiders 31- Bucs 24
This was the most important game of the year for the Raiders, not only did they come into Tampa and beat a team on the verge from making the playoffs, but they did it in comeback fashion, something Oakland has lacked in the last couple years. This was another great game for Russell and the young receivers, but the story of the day was the breakout performance by Michael Bush. Fargas and Mcfadden were both hurt and Michael Bush stepped up in having an amazing game with 177 yards and 2 TDs. He showed that he can take the load of carrying the ball 20 times a game. Another story was the defense playing without their best player, Nmadi Asomugha. This game really gave hope to the Raider Nation, and hopefully will carry on tot he 09 season.
