Lamar Odom seems like the kind of person that loves to be wanted. As much as the Lakers players seem to be campaigning to get Odom back, the Heat seem like they are doing much more to show LO that his new home should be in South Florida.
The difference seems to come from the front office and how they are going about courting Odom. While Jerry Buss is pulling offers and lowering offers, Pat Riley is simply saying this is all we can pay you, take it all.
Although the numbers are similar, favoring the Lakers a little even, the way that the front offices are going about it may be swinging it more towards Miami.
Not only are the Heat giving Lamar all they can money wise, they are giving him a guaranteed starting spot. Even though Odom seems to always say the right things when it comes to starting or coming off the bench, there is no doubt that the Heat can use that as a huge bargaining chip.
The difference in the end of where Odom will sign most likely will come down to who did the best pitch job. The Lakers are saying that they would like him to come back to play a bench role, while the Heat are saying they NEED Odom to play an enormous role in the starting rotation.
I may be wrong, but Odom choosing Miami seems like it is quite possible.
