Jonathan Niese pitched a gem yesterday in a 10-3 victory over the Houston Astros, giving up only one earned run in seven innings last night.

The Mets bats also awoke last night with Francouer,Wright and Santos all hitting home runs.

Francoeur continues to prove why the Mets traded for him and maybe a change of scenery will do him wonders.

This outing may be a glimpse of what Niese can prove and give the Mets a little more wiggle room to get another bat or bullpen pitcher instead of trying to get another Redding type pitcher.

Going into next year the Mets can't know for sure who is going to be where, lets just hope Niese pitches his way into the rotation for next year.
