Roy Halladay's name has been mentioned numerous times in the past month as the MLB trading deadline nears. Every team would love to have a all-star caliber player like Halladay to help push them towards the playoffs.

However, the price is very large. Your talking giving up two or three of your top prospect for one pitcher that is only guaranteed to be with you for a year and a half.

But, some teams are looking past that and are trying to acquire this year's CC Sabathia.

New York Yankees

The Yankees have recently entered the Roy Halladay sweepstakes, but are likely not going to make a strong move for him.

They would need to give up Joba Chamberlein and 23-year-old Phil Hughes. Plus two of their top prospects in the minors. They would have to give a big chunk of their future for a 32-year-old pitcher.

Philadelphia Philles

The team that is willing to give up what it takes for Roy Halladay. The Phillies feel like they need Halladay in order to keep their NL East lead and lead them to the World Series with an opportunity to repeat as champions.

The Phillies are willing to give up their top two picthing prospects, Kyle Drabek and J.A. Happ, in addition to outfielder prospects Dominic Brown and Michael Taylor.

A lot to give up, but are willing to do so.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays have entered the Halladay sweepstakes earlier in the month, however, they are unlikely to land Halladay.

The Rays are currently third in the AL East and are watching the Yankees and the Red Sox battling it out for the top spot.

It is pretty certain that the top two teams in the AL East will go on to the postseason, and if the Rays add Halladay, they can join the race. But it seems unlikely that the Rays will give up their top prospects for Halladay.

Top Rays Prospects Include: Jake McGee (P), Wade Davis (P), David Price (P), Desmond Jennings (OF), Reid Brignac (SS).

Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are "in" the Halladay sweepstakes but are probably the least likely team to land him.

They have young pitching in the minors and are unwilling to give it up.

They are more interested in acquiring Indians Catcher Victor Martinez, and may have to give up their top pitching prospect for him. If that happens, they are officially out of the running.

White Sox, Brewers and Rangers

These three teams are at the bottom of the barrel and have just thrown their names in there and are not expected to get Halladay, or even come close.

They are in the race because they are in need of something in order to make a run at the division and acquiring Halladay would do just that.

But, they aren't going to give up their prospects and are not expected to go any with negotiations.
