NHL, NHL Central, Detroit Red Wings, Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, Johan Franzen

Johan Franzen was always a silent player that not many people knew about, let alone talked about on a daily basis. Today Franzen, or the Mule as players and fans call him, is known throughout the NHL.

Franzen was on a streak at the end of the regular season, and many were unsure if he would continue it as the playoffs began. Well, 27 goals in 27 games later, the Mule is still on his streak.

Franzen leads the NHL with 12 playoff goals, and he ranks second with total points.

Dallas must pay serious attention to the Mule throughout this series if they want to stand a chance in these Western Conference Finals.

However, he is not the only one to watch, with Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, and Nick Lidstrom still contributing greatly with goals. Detroit has been on a roll after sweeping Colorado and shows no signs of slowing down.

  1. Being a Stars fan i have to admit Franzen has been pretty amazing. Hopefully before this series is over, (which it might be close to tonight at the Joe) the Stars will have learned to shut him down.
