Felipe Massa registered a time of 1:27.617 to grab his second pole of the season and his third consecutive pole at Istanbul.
Cool weather marked this qualifying session as the temperature did not reach 20 degrees Celsius. Among the top three teams in the constructor’s championship, those frisky conditions negatively affected the BMW-Sauber cars.
Robert Kubica only managed to place fifth while Nick Heidfeld will start from the ninth position.
As for Ferrari and McLaren, the race will be disputed and will be a very interesting one for the racing fans tomorrow. The four pilots who ranked in the top four are only separated by three tenths of a second.
The first few corners and pit stops strategies will be crucial for the outcome of the race.
