After being on the DL for over seven weeks with a pinched nerve in his pitching shoulder John Maine is seeking a second opinion.

He will see Dr. James Andrews, and the buzz is that he can miss the remainder of the season. This would be another terrible blow to a season that is slipping away.

On his injury Maine has said that "It feels alright when I pitch but aches on the days in between. Pain is the wrong word, its more like discomfort."

Hopefully the diagnoses will be positive, but when it comes to the Mets you never know what could happen.
