Spurs to Hand Out Commemorative Championship Rings to Fans at Opener

There is going to be something for everyone at the San Antonio Spurs' season opener on Oct. 28.

Before the game, the team will lift its fifth championship banner to the rafters, and the players and coaches will receive their championship rings.

Although the pregame ceremony will be all about honoring the team, the fans will also be included in the celebration. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative championship ring.

The commemorative ring will feature the Spurs logo on the front, the team's regular-season and postseason records on the left panel and the Larry O'Brien Trophy with five studs (which represent the franchise's five championships) on the right panel.

Considering the amount of support San Antonio fans have given the Spurs through the years, this is a cool way for the team to thank the fans for helping it win a championship.
