I was actually just writing an article about who would the Red Sox are considering about acquiring by the 2009 MLB trade deadline but Boston.com and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette have just reported that the Red Sox have acquired first baseman Adam Laroche from the Pittsburgh Pirates for Argenis Diaz and another undisclosed prospect. This trade will most certainly help the Red Sox in the power department when completed. He is hitting .247 with 12 HR's and 40 RBI's. Garrett Jones was playing first base for the Pirates today in place of Adam so it's most likely that this trade is a done deal.
