When McLaren signed Lewis Hamilton at the tender age of 10 they changed his life and helped set his career. Now Honda have taken a leaf from their tree and done a very similar thing... but this time signing an older karter, he goes by the name of Will Stevens and is a British, European and Asia Pacific Champion.

They have put their money where their mouth is, and backed this youngster to help him achieve his dream of racing in the most expensive and glamorous form of motorsport.

This is a very uplifting moment not only for Will but also for all the Karters accross the Globe. It brings them hope, drive and ambition. It gives them the knowledge to understand you don't have to be a ex F1 drivers son or a millionaire to be recognised!

Ron Meadows said: We are delighted to welcome Will to the Honda Racing F1 Team. Will has had a very promising career in karting to date and we very much look forward to assisting his advancement through the ranks of the junior formulae towards achieving his ultimate ambition to race in Formula One. Honda considers the development of emerging motorsport talent to be a key part of our strategy and our commitment to Formula One. We look forward to seeing how Will progresses with our support over the course of the next few years.

I intend to do my very best to ensure that their belief in me is rewarded.

Karting is a extremely important key in m, it is a step that every driver goes through. And there are many more youngsters praying for the oportunity to be backed like this.
