5 Future NBA Superstars
These guys are the future faces of the league. I included some of the things that I think that they could improve on. I also included comparisons to them and older NBA players. By the way I'm not going to include Kevin Durant on the list. We already know he will be a superstar. Feel free to disagree. And, also this list is not in order of who will be the greatest.
He may not be my favorite young guy on the list. My hometown is Memphis and I love the Tigers. But, I never cared for him. I loved Chris Douglas-Roberts. But, anyway this kid is sick. My problem with him is that I don't think that he has truly been tested just yet. I know alot of people may disagree with me on that but, sometimes in games Derrick Rose didn't want the ball in clutch situations. But I think that was because he had the jitters during those moments. He will get over that with time. He seems out of control at times which leave him prone to turnovers. And offensively I think he depends a little bit too much on his athleticism to score points. But his jumper is better than what people give him credit for. Also, people shouldn't say that he is the second best point guard and will be way better than Chris Paul. One thing that alot of other point guards like Deron and CP3 have over him is that they are smarter than him. But other than that he will be a great player.
Comparisons: D'Wayne Wade (pass first version)
I know that alot of people are going to disagree with me. But, if you've ever seen him play you can see that this guy is tremendously talented. He is probably the last great player that we will ever see come straight out of high school. The issues that I have with him is that alot like Derrick Rose he can get out of control. And, he is also turnover prone as well. His defense also isn't very good. Also, at the age of 23 he still has alot of potential. Can somebody please tell me how in the hell did he get drafted in the middle of the second round.
Comparison: Steve Francis (before injuries)
Too be honest with you I know virtually nothing about him. I've never seen him play either. But, I put him on this list through word of mouth. The more I hear about him the more I start to like him.
Comparison: Kevin Garnett (that's what another article said)
This is my boy right here. He has the whole package. He plays intense Defense. He has a beautiful jumper. He has a pretty good offensive game for a rookie. He is one of the smoothest players I've seen in a long time. Also, he has a very high IQ. And contrary to popular belief HE IS NOT A BALLHOG!!! He hates to lose with a strong passion. Has a killer instinct. He isn't afraid of guarding other great guards such as Derron Williams, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, and D-Wade. He does have his share of issues just like everyone else on here. Mayo shot selection can be good at times but, there are times where he will take a shot that will make me want to slap him. Also he is slightly undersized at the 2 at 6'4. He also has an average wingspan. He settles for jumpers a little too much. He can't get to the basket at will but, he can read defenders moves and make a move to get past them. And, he is too turnover prone. I know alot of you guys will hate me for putting him on this list since I don't think too many people like his game.
Comparison: Ray Allen, Brandon Roy, Chauncey Billups
I'm not sure how good he will be but the guy will at the worst would probably be a poor man's Amare Stoudamire. He could become, a superstar but like Mayo, Randolph, and Durant I don't know that he will necessarily become one on the team that he was drafted by. He has made great improvement in his game since college. I think that he his pretty weak defensively mainly because, he allows other guys to get into position in the paint. He will most likely struggle against great PF's such as KG, CB4, Tim Duncan, and Amare. But, hey most rookies usually do. I hope he doesn't get hurt like Kenyon Martin did I still think injuries screwed him up.
Comparison: Tim Duncan
Honorable Mentions and Final Thoughts
Eric Gordon- I seriously considered him.
I'm pretty sure I forgot about alot of guys as well. Let me know what you think about the list. I came up with the list off of the top of my head. Also I tried to use guys that were 25 or younger and have been in the league less than 5 seasons.
