Leafs Lose Out On Brunnstrom, Signs With Dallas

Derek HarmsworthSenior Writer IMay 8, 2008

For those who's teams lost out, at least we can take solace in the fact that it's all over.

As first reported in my latest Maple Leafs Notes column, Swedish hot prospect Fabian Brunnstrom did make his decision today, deciding to sign with the Dallas Stars.

Brunnstrom chose the Stars over the Red Wings, the Canadiens, and the Maple Leafs.

Despite choosing Dallas, Brunnstrom's agent said that there really was no wrong choice for Fabian, as all franchises promised some great things and would all be good fits for his client.

At the end of the day, Brunnstrom wanted the opportunity to play an important role with a team.  The fact he can also secure a chance at winning and being a part of a successful team is simply icing on the cake.
