Mets' Troubles Only Getting Worse

I'm watching the Mets-Braves game, and Fernando Nieve just hurt himself badly running into first base. He's not staying in the game, and it doesn't look pretty going forward. For all we know he'll miss nary a start, but considering the Mets' luck this year, he could be out a while. As a non-Mets fan, I don't get why everyone wants to fire Jerry Manuel when he has to deal with stuff like this. Omar Minaya isn't doing him any favors by not replacing the key players. Injuries aren't usually a valid excuse, but this is really ridiculous.
