After signing several big names during this summer's transfer window, Manchester City have once again picked up another big name as they have now completed a 25 million pound transfer for former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor will now join the three other major transfers made during this summer's transfer window in Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, and Rogue Santa Cruz for City next season, as they make their push to become one of the top teams in not only the English Premier League, but also in Europe.

After completing this transfer, Adebayor told the media that he cannot wait to start playing for City, and he will help them try to accomplish the major goals that they have set out to do since the change in ownership to the Abu Dhabi United Group, which have supplied City with hundreds of millions of pounds to make the team better.

During this summer, City have spent 130 million pounds for the services of Barry, Tevez, Santa Cruz and now Adebayor, and according to boss Mark Hughes, City are not overpaying for these players, but are making an investment into the team's future.

After the transfer was completed, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that Arsenal have no immediate plans to replace Adebayor, as Arsenal have a big squad, and the team is more than capable of finding a player that could fill Adebayor's services on the current squad.

Wegner also admitted that Manchester City is now a growing force in the English Premier League, and he expects them to compete for the Premier League title in this year and in upcoming years.
