Just when I thought there was already too much Red Sox programming available, the team launches an OnDemand service and gets 100,000 program views in just a month's time.

A Comcast-only service, the team and the cable giant launched Red Sox OnDemand last month for free to subscribers, allowing fans to view all kinds of shows focusing on past season recaps, current season updates, profiles, minor league updates and mini-documentaries about different aspects of Fenway Park.

For example, among the features loaded up this past week were profiles on Justin Masterson and the late Dom DiMaggio and a look at the famous Citgo sign behind the Green Monster. Yes, we are THAT Red Sox-obsessed that a feature on a giant sign will get views.

It was announced this past week that since launch, the service has 100,000 views already—pretty incredible considering that Comcast doesn't offer services to parts of New England—Maine especially.

Granted there will be an early spike due to the newness of the service, but considering the season is active and there is no shortage of Red Sox programming, that is still pretty impressive.

It will be interesting to see where the numbers are in a few months and how much they continue to fill the funnel with programs that will bring people back. Also, how pissed are you if you don't have Comcast and are missing this (looking at you, Time Warner)?

Regardless, the Nation has spoken and NESN's near round-the-clock Red Sox shows aren't nearly enough. They want more and are going to get it.
