I'm off to Las Vegas for the weekend for a good friend's bachelor party.  Sin City.  Should be a blast.

I'm packing all my stuff right now and it got me thinking about sports.  Wierd, I know, but I have a lot of sports T Shirts and I happen to be packing them.  Other than the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), there are no sports teams in Vegas.

We all know the obvious reasons why: Gambling, too many distractions for the young athletes, etc...  UNLV handles it just fine.  I watch Sportscenter every night and I can't remember a single incident in which a UNLV athlete got busted doing something against the rules on the Strip.

Las Vegas is a huge city, and its in the top 5 fastest growing cities in the country.  We can't keep depriving their residents of a major Professional team for long.  So, I'm going to ask an open question:

Which of the major 4 Pro Sports (NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA) will be the first to start a franchise, or move a franchise there?  And what would the team name be?

I won't be around a computer till Sunday so I expect a bunch of good answers.  Enjoy!

My answer:

An NBA team will go first because of the HUGE success of the Allstar game a few years back.  The team name will be the Las Vegas Road Runners.  I think the way this will come to be is the Los Angeles Clippers will want their own market and are tired of being the bastard stepchild of the Los Angeles Lakers.
