Baseball In The Year 2020 East Divisions.
This is a short piece on how baseball will look in the year 2020. Which teams will be on top? Which on bottom? Find out what happens to your favorite team> My crack team of scientists (terrible, and myself) have simulated these events millions of times (OK maybe 0 times.) and have figured out the answers. I will release these by area. East, Central then West.
Hope you enjoy!
The Mets are at consistent level. Sometimes they win the division sometimes they don't. Just average.
Marlins are like the Mets. Except Hanley Ramirez is a player-manager after the old manager couldn't go on after the slow starts and hot finishes (vice versa).
Well it turned out Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard were the center of a satanic cult. So management changed the name back to the A's and hired the corpse of Connie Mack to manage as some sort of appeasement toward God.
Stephen Strasburg turned out just great...for the Yankees. For those that don't remember in 2010 Nats traded Strasburg to the Yankees for Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher, Derek Jeter and Roger Clemens. With these pieces the Nats won the first of three World Series titles.
Atlanta is just the dumps. Tom Glavine won't come back, John Smoltz won't come back, Jeff Francouer won't come back. Just a last place team.
The Yankees were on fire until Stephen Strasburg single handily pulled CC Sabathia out of a burning building(chicken wing eating competition got a little out of hand), injuring his arm. He still pitches but now only every other day, and without a cape (superman called trademark on the S pattern).
Halladay never was traded and the Jays proceeded to wallow in the dumps on the AL East
Nothing new. Except Big Papi had a heart attack in the middle of the 2013 season, and when they cut him open they found Rafael Palmero, Tony Womack, Nomar Garciaparra and Sidney Ponson's talent.
The Rays are doing what they started in 2008 - winning. They are winning the division almost every year. Backed by young dynamic players. Although Joe Maddon's slogans got a bit old(09=08, 09=10, etc)
Orioles...well nothing has changed.
