Sound like a good deal!?

The Daily Star (not a reliable source), followed by a number of football websites, are reporting Arsene Wenger to be arranging a bid that consists of £10 million plus want-away defender Phillipe Senderos in exchange for Fulham's towering center back, Brede Hangeland.

It may be a rumour, or maybe the Frenchman is plotting a move for the Craven Cottage player. We'll discuss it nonetheless.

Arsene Wenger has been after him since a while now with two reportedly-rejected bids ranging between £8-10 million. However, now he plans to sweeten the deal with the unsettled Swiss central defender.

Senderos, as opposed to popular belief, is not a bad player. He was quite influential in Arsenal's 2006 Champions League campaign. Toure and him managed to forge a decent partnership that kept many clean sheets.

However, he was never good enough to be first choice with the Gunners, and after seeing his chances limited with William Gallas coming in, he decided to leave.

He spent a season at A.C. Milan, where he saw fewer chances to start than he would have wished, but was eventually sent back with them not taking the option to retain him.

Brede Hangeland does not need any introduction. He was an absolute monster last season at Fulham.

Hangeland put in a great display and was second only to Nemanja Vidic. He has decided not to extend his contract with the club and Arsenal may seem like an enticing opportunity for him, with the possibility of Champions League football.

I think if this is possible it should be done. This will completely solidify our defence, add brilliant depth to our back four, and hopefully plug the holes that Almunia had to kill himself to fill last season. Lets hope Roy Hodgson feels the same way.
