Dallas Stars, 2008 NHL Playoffs

Dallas, TX --  Coach Dave Tippett has been reminded by many reporters about the predicted outcome of this series and how they are being viewed as the "underdogs" ... again.  Say no more, because word around the locker room is repeat.  Yes, continue to strive on what they have accomplished in the Quarter and Semi Finals and play like they had nothing to prove from the beginning.

Since the start of the playoffs, the number one goal in the locker room wasn't to get over the hump that had eluded the Stars since 2004.  No, the idea going into the playoffs was to make a run for the glorious Lord Stanley and not look back.  It wasn't about just getting past the first round, Turco's ability to carry the team, or the team's identity for this matter.  All that, to the group, was just a bunch of jargon that is part of the past and they kept it that way.  They went into the playoffs thinking exactly like the Wings, Flyers, and Penguins; thinking about ending the 2008 season as Stanley Cup Champions.

Now, there can only be one crowned champion, but who is to say they can't make their presence felt?  Of course we wouldn't want to look at it that way around here in Big D since we are apart of a city who expects nothing less than perfection.  It is time to awake from the dream that has left us in awe for the past month of the Playoffs because it has just begun. Eight wins down, eight wins left for glory...can it be done?
