Joey Votto No. 19 1B, Cincinnati Reds

A big name impacting the MLB Fantasy Community these days is Joey Votto.

If you haven't heard of him yet, you have now. He might even be available in your league right now.  He is eligible at 1B and OF, and he has won the starting job over Scott Hatteberg, even with veteran-friendly Dusty Baker as his skipper.

Votto has shown flashes of brilliance before.

In just 28 games at the major league level last season (he was a late-season call up), he batted .321 with four home runs and 17 RBI.  Even more impressive was his OPS of .907.

The 24-year-old Canadian had a huge game for the Reds today, which may be the breakout game he needed to get you to know his name. Votto went 3-for-4 with three bombs and four RBI, leading the offense in a 9-0 win against the Cubbies.

And oh yeah, he stole a base, too.

He raised his season batting average to .302 and ignited the Reds offense.  If you act fast, he could ignite your fantasy team's offense, too.

The Reds are loaded with young talent, and Votto is one of the first to break through as a regular in the lineup.

Expect him to be a fixture in the middle of the Reds order and fantasy lineups for years to come.

Other young Reds you should know about:

Edinson Volquez

Homer Bailey

Johnny Cueto
