The New Orleans Pelicans received some great news from one of their big-time players in Ryan Anderson.

On Wednesday, the stretch-4 shooting extraordinaire, who played just 22 games last season due to neck surgery, posted on Instagram that he was cleared for contact:

"I'm cleared for contact! After 8 months out, I can finally play again. Thank you God!" Anderson wrote in his post.

Anderson is an exceptional three-point shooter who can stretch the floor and add a dynamic element to the Pelicans' offense.

With the likes of young star Anthony Davis and newcomer Omer Asik joining the frontcourt, New Orleans has some momentum to take a big step in the 2014-15 NBA campaign.
