England face Norway in a friendly on Wednesday night, and Norway's Vegard Forren clearly isn't incredibly impressed with new England captain Wayne Rooney's fitness.

In the buildup to their clash, Forren, a defender, took aim at Rooney's weight.

"Rooney looks a bit chubby," he told (h/t Press Association, via The Guardian). "They're obviously good players, and many of them are on good form already after three games in the Premier League, but we're looking forward to it."

He continued, on facing England: "It's almost a bit scary but it's in games like this and experiences like this you want to be able to contribute so I'm looking forward to it. We know we're a good team so there's no reason for us to walk around thinking we can't stop them."

Forren briefly was with Southampton in 2013, but after failing to find any first-team action, he returned to Norway's Molde.
