NFL Week 1 kicks off in Seattle on Thursday night, with the Seahawks pegged as early 5.5-point favorites over the Green Bay Packers.

The Seahawks begin pursuit of a second straight Super Bowl victory over a Packers club that struggled in 2013. However, Green Bay has performed well against Seattle, winning seven of their last 10 meetings, including three of the last four.

The computer, which will be entered in the prestigious Las Vegas SuperContest in 2014, is picking a Seahawks cover (33-21).

Both teams are pegged as early contenders on the Super Bowl futures betting menu. The Seahawks, with 6-1 odds, trail only the Denver Broncos, who enter the new season with 11-2 odds of winning their first Super Bowl since 1998. The Packers are an early 9-1 bet, according to most sportsbooks tracked by Odds Shark.

The New Orleans Saints, who join the Packers with Super Bowl odds of 9-1, travel to Atlanta for a Week 1 matchup with the Falcons. The Saints are favored by three points over Atlanta, a team they have beaten straight up in 13 of their last 16 meetings, including twice last season.

However, the Falcons did cover in their last home game against the Saints, a 17-13 Week 12 loss in which they were 7.5-point home underdogs.

The Falcons limped to a 4-12 finish in 2013 after opening the season with strong odds of winning the NFC South. Entering Week 1 action, the Falcons are a 9-2 bet to win the division, trailing the favored Saints, who own NFL futures odds of 4-7.

Sunday Night Football in Week 1 features a marquee matchup. Reigning NFL MVP Peyton Manning leads the Broncos in search of his first victory over his old team, the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos are currently 7.5-point home favorites over a Colts team that has dominated them in recent head-to-head action.

The Colts are 6-0 straight up in their last six against Denver, including a 39-33 Week 7 upset of the Broncos last season, a game in which they were pegged as 6.5-point home underdogs. But Indy will have its hands full with a Denver squad that has dominated at home, winning 15 of their last 18 straight up.

In other NFL Week 1 betting action, the Baltimore Ravens are slim one-point favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals in a battle of AFC North rivals, while the Arizona Cardinals are early three-point favorites against the San Diego Chargers in a Monday Night Football matchup.
