ProFootballTalk.com is reporting the Baltimore Ravens have signed defensive end/outside linebacker Terrell Suggs to a contract extension. The deal is said to be six years and worth $63 million.

His signing bonus, $33 million, will be the highest for a defensive player in the history of the NFL. PFT is reporting Suggs will earn the bulk of his money in the first two seasons, which will average about $20 million a year.

Suggs recorded eight sacks last season, andle  he returned two interceptions for touchdowns. As a rookie in 2003, he started one game and recorded 12 sacks and one interception. Suggs thinks of himself as a defensive end, not an outside linebacker.
