New acquisition Angel Di Maria left his Manchester United debut early Saturday due to an apparent injury, but Red Devils fans can rest easy.

According to Henry Winter of the Daily Telegraph, manager Louis Van Gaal just wanted to protect the club's investment after Di Maria took a kick to the calf:

That would seem to suggest that the Argentinian star won't miss any additional time, which is a piece of good news for the Old Trafford faithful.

United were only able to muster a 0-0 draw Saturday against newly promoted Burnley F.C., and the Red Devils have yet to pick up a win through three EPL contests this season.

Once Di Maria gets acclimated to the system as well as the Premier League, though, perhaps United's luck will start to change.
