Kobe Bryant is the winner of the 2008 NBA Player of the Year and he should be. Kobe lead his team to the best record in the Eastern Conference.
The runner up was Chris Paul from the Hornets who had a monster year leading his squad to a huge turn around from last year.
The 3rd place finisher was Kevin Garnett who lead his team to the best record in the NBA. Kobe Bryant is the 2008 NBA Player of the Year because he average 28. 4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.9 APG and shot 48 % from the field.
He also had not a lot to work with until the trade with Memphis to get Pau Gasol. He was a huge plus to help Kobe score. I am going to leave you with this, what if Kobe had got traded in the beginning of the year.
Would he of got the NBA Player of the Year with a different team?

There is no question that Bryant was the best player in the NBA this year, but my vote for MVP would still have to be Paul. Best player and MVP are not necessarily the same thing and I think that is what we have in this case.

I made a mistake, instead of Kobe leading the Eastern Conference it should be Western Conference.
I am sorry about that.

Lots of grammer and spelling problems, but it does deserve to go to Kobe. If Kobe did get traded earlier in the year, he still would have been the best player in the NBA.
