Roy Hodgson named four newcomers in his England squad to face Norway in a friendly on September 3 and a Euro 2016 friendly in Switzerland five days later.
In his press conference, Hodgson referred to Colback's nickname in the Northeast, "The Ginger Pirlo," which immediately began trending in the United Kingdom.
Twitter was not impressed.

If the World Cup debacle wasn't bad enough, the fact Hodgson has called Jack Colback 'the Ginger Pirlo' is sackable on its own! #HodgsonOut— Pete Stephenson (@petestephenson2) August 28, 2014
We should also note that #HodgsonOut began trending after a squad that also included Calum Chambers, Fabian Delph and Danny Rose was named.
