Lukas Podolski endeared himself to Arsenal fans for his penchant for opportune goals and his quirky and oft-hilarious use of social media

So it's only fitting that the German all but confirmed his Arsenal exit on Instagram.

Podolski has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates this summer, with ESPN's Kevin Palmer reporting this week that the player's advisers are assessing "several offers." The Gunners have a bevy of talent in their attacking ranks with little room for the 29-year-old.

On Monday, Podolski posted a somewhat emo picture of himself on Instagram with what is seemingly a farewell note to Arsenal fans.

"Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out. Opportunities don't happen, you create them! #StayFocus #NoExcuses #FightForYourGoals #BeStrong #Champs #Victory #Glory #Poldi #aha."
