LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 04: Lamar Odom #7 of the Los Angeles Lakers and Marcin Gortat #13 of the Orlando Magic battle for positon in the fourth quarter of Game One of the 2009 NBA Finals at Staples Center on June 4, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. Well, Gortat can repack his bags as he is on his way to Orlando. The defending Eastern Conference Champions have resigned the backup Center who was a core part of the team on its way to a great season.

Gortat is mostly unhappy that he is going back due to the fact he wanted to start in the NBA, but their will be no longer a chance for that! Or will their be?

That's right, the Magic may be looking to trade the Center, and a rumor has already popped up of him to Houston for Shane Battier.

Gortat would get to start for likely only a season, and Houston has said they will trade for a Center. Could Gortat be the answer?

Why Houston Does It:

  • Need a Center while Yao is out.
  • Allows them to make room for Ariza and let him play more.
  • If he doesn't work out. Good trade bait.

Why Orlando Does It:

  • Gives them another perimeter defender which allows them to move Rashard Lewis to Power Forward
  • Another good shooter where he can get open looks from double teams on Howard
