Every NFL team fears injuries during the preseason, but the health of the kicker is usually the last thing on anyone’s mind. Unfortunately for the Jacksonville Jaguars, that wasn’t the case Friday against the Detroit Lions.
John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports on Josh Scobee's injury:
The Jaguars have struggled the past few years, but Scobee has been one constant almost every Sunday. He made 23 of his 25 field goal attempts during the 2013 season, including five from 50 or more yards and a 55-yard blast, and was 22-of-23 on extra points.
What’s more, Scobee has been incredibly durable throughout his career. He played in all 16 games in all but one of the last 10 seasons for the Jaguars. On his career, Scobee has connected on 81.1 percent of his field-goal attempts and 294-of-299 extra points. His career long field goal was 59 yards in 2010.
Jacksonville is going to need his consistency in special teams if it wants to surprise people this year. Check back for updates as they develop.
