The third game of the preseason didn't go too well for the Carolina Panthers who were blown out by a strong New England team. The Panthers appeared to struggle in every aspect of the game and only looked good defensively early in the first quarter. The loss drops their preseason record to 1-2 with one more to game to play.

Taking the blowout loss into consideration, the players fighting for a roster spot did little to stand out, although Joe Webb and Brenton Bersin each made a case to make the final roster.

Carolina will make its first round of cuts in four days to trim the roster to 75, so some of these guys may have played their last game in a Panthers uniform.
