The Vanderbuilt Commodores had a special season last year. The Commodores were undefeated after 16 games and one of their main reasons for the strong season was senior G-F Shan Foster.

Shan averaged 20.3 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 1.1 SPG. Foster also shot 46.9% from downtown.

Here are several great performances during the 2007-08 season

42 points against Miss St. (W)

32 points against UMASS (W)

32 points against Tennessee (W)

26 points against Wake Forest (W)

29 points against Georgia   (W)

22 points against Bradley   (W)

21 points against Alabama (L)

20 points against Kentucky  (L)

Foster would be a good fit in Denver because:

1. Foster can become a subsitute for shooting guard J.R. Smith who will be seeking a mid level contract this offseason. The Nuggets will be involved in perhaps a bidding war for the services of Smith and Shan makes a nice replacement. Foster also can be molded and groomed into the ideal player for George Karl and company; a lock to me.

2. Shan has shown improvement in every year he's been at Vanderbuilt. If Foster played with the Nuggets today he would third on the team in scoring, first in three point shooting, and third in steals per game.

3. #32 would bring hope and promise to the Nuggets who are currently lost. Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony trade rumors have been swirling around the league ever since another first round exit, but all that can be solved with a good draft.

I love watching Shan Foster, but I don't think he'll be an NBA star by any means. He's a great 3-point threat and is solid in transition, but that's about it. He does have a high motor, which is good. I think Shan Foster is the best NBA prospect from Vandy in a while, but I can't get over how Matt Freije and Derrick Byars turned out - not good.

I have to agree with Gary here. There is no way, in my mind, that Shan Foster can be a star in the league. Let alone on the Nuggets, where Anthony and Iverson already own the place. That being said, I think Foster could score in between 8-12 ppg in the Nuggets system.

Iverson maybe on his way out of the door

Foster can come off the bench and feel J.R. Smith's duties

I just don't think Foster's game will translate to a lot of success in the league. Overseas, he'd be an All-Star.
