and roughly 128 yards. Having also played a top-ten (but albeit overrated) Virginia Tech and a conference road game (against a Mississippi State team that beat Auburn at home this past week). That Middle Tennessee team they romped, is the same one who posted 42 and 550+ yards AT Louisville. Either LSU is untouchable defensively wise, or Louisville is dismal. How about a combo of both?

Speaking of Auburn... they struggled against Kansas State at home - lost to South Florida - and lost to Miss. State. What's up, Tuberville?

The Louisville – Kentucky game had about 78.5 less points and 916 less yards of offense than I expected. The 4th quarter was great though. The Kentucky defense has grown by leaps and bounds since last year, I’ll be interested to see how they do in SEC play this year.

As for SEC play, what about the Alabama – Arkansas game. I knew it’d be a close 3 pointer, I just picked the wrong team. The Nick Saban effect is real I guess, the last second TD drive/ pass was perfectly executed. Probably the best game this weekend, if you missed it, you missed a good one.

How was Georgia Tech favored over Boston College? Because they were at home? Matt Ryan has to be one of the more underrated QB’s in the country, and the only decent one the ACC has.

As for that near-death as a football conference ACC. Has this conference ever heard of the term, “quarterback”? And how to win games, you need an at least average one? Look at how many teams have struggled due to dismal at best QB play – NC State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, DUKE (haha), UNC, Florida State, Miami… um scratch that, just about everyone but Clemson and Boston College. That’s 10 teams – a significant percentage of the conference. And ACC fans wonder why everyone else thinks the conference is “down”… I prefer the term, “endangered to the point of near-extinction”. And if you have ever taken a look at the ACC’s BCS record, it’s horrific. 1 win in its history? The only win equaling Florida State’s win over a then Big East affiliated Virginia Tech for the 1999 national championship. The irony of it all, I guess someone had to win.

Virginia Tech - the preseason favorite to win the ACC echo's this sentiment. They are #104th (there are only 119 - 120 if you count newly crowned Longwood - in the Bowl Subdivision of I-A) in offense production, averaging 17.3 points a game and a perfect 300 yards a game. To say they were bad is an understatement. They had better get the defense to averaging about 3 defensive TDs a game, or the trip to Clemson, home stands versus Boston College, Miami, and Florida State - could all end up in the L column on the schedule.
