Earnhardt Jr. finished ninth in the Crown Royal presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Steady yet unspectacular best describes the No. 88 team Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Earnhardt had to work his way forward through traffic and battle dirty air all day at the historic oval. But he waged a good battle to move up his track position and into the Top 10 by the end of the day. The hard work paid off as Earnhardt earned his series-leading 14th Top-10 finish of the season. He remains second in the driver point standings at 24 points behind leader Jeff Gordon.
