Two weeks ago, Corinthians earned a 1-0 win over Sao Paulo rivals Santos in the Brazilian Campeonato.

However, the game was overshadowed by an incident that saw Corinthians midfielder Petros deliberately barge into referee Raphael Claus from behind moments after the official accidentally impeded one of his teammates.

According to ESPN Brazil (source in English here), a tribunal has slapped the player with a six-month ban for his transgression.

Corinthians' lawyers will try to appeal the decision, but when push comes to shove (sorry), Petros probably deserves to serve a hefty punishment for this.
