The Mansfield News Journal is reporting that the person charged of the murder of former Baltimore Colt Michael Woods, and spent four years in federal prison for it, has plead not guilty to the murder of Michael Woods.
Woods career was ended by the shooting. Victor Gomez was cleared of the charge, claiming that Woods died of a kidney infection, and not the shooting. Woods died 27 years after being shot. Woods lost use of his arms and his legs when he was shot.
Gomez is a registered sex offender, and he will likely spend the rest of his life in jail. The bullet could not be removed from Woods body, thus he was paralyzed. Woods played with the Colts for three seasons.
