NHL, NHL Pacific, Dallas Stars, Brenden Morrow, 2008 NHL Playoffs, Breaking News

** This article is in its original form as written by Mike Heika and was found in the Dallas Morning News Dated Tuesday, May 6, 2008. It is reposted here by this author to spread the updated news on Milan Michalek's injury suffered by a hit in Game 6 against Dallas.**

"San Jose forward Milan Michalek, who had to be helped from the ice after taking a violent shoulder-to-head hit from Brenden Morrow in Game 6, returned home with the team Monday. A Sharks spokesman said Michalek would be re-examined today, but that he was alert and walking, showing no ill-effects from the hit."

Author's Note: This was big enough news to where I figured I should update Bleacher Report. I did not have enough information or knowledge on the subject to give my own take. I figured I would use Mike Heika's words. Again, this is in no way my own writing and is merely here to update my readers and friends about the Michalek injury.

  1. Last I heard they were going to examine his shoulder and he had been woozy--sounds like a separation and concussion to me. That was one of the best hits I ever saw.

    1. Yea, I'm just glad he got up. The guy behind the glass tho in the Stars jersey laughing really made me mad though. I for real was expecting the stretcher. Morrow hit him clean, but Michalek had his head down i guess.

  2. Read about this earlier today. Glad to hear its nothing crazy. Shoulders are easy to fix and Dr. Tang is an excellent surgeon (if he even needs surgery).

Ken, I too was expecting some sort of immobilization to get Michalek off the ice. That was some kind of wicked hit! I'm just relieved to hear that his injuries were not as serious as they looked.

    1. I am just sort of assuming your a Sharks fan Enforcer, but i would also point out the guy on the other side of the glass laughing and acting like a fool while Michalek appeared to be out cold? Yea...that guy should have gotten his ass kicked. I'm ashamed to be a fan with people like that.

I am also glad Morrow kept that hit clean, if he had done something cheap Michalek could be dead right now.

  3. Yes, I am a Sharks fan, through and through. =)

I didn't notice the laughing ass on the other side of the glass, but who does that sort of thing? Ew.

And one final thing...it's Dr. TING, not Tang. Forgive me! The man did my back surgery! You'd think I'd be able to get his name right!

    1. lol, I liked Tang better, made me think of the lame orange juice substitute.
