A matchup that received a lot of pre-game hype, the actual game didn't live up to its billing. Even for preseason standards, the game was sloppy and marred by turnovers and penalties.
On the night, the Redskins amassed four turnovers and 11 penalties. In a game they commanded for the majority, the Redskins only prevailed after a missed two-point conversion from the Browns in the final seconds.
Leading up to that attempt was a 48-yard Hail Mary pass from Connor Shaw to Emmanuel Ogbuehi.
While the offense did tally over 400 yards of offense, Washington owes this victory to a defense that tallied five sacks and held Cleveland to just 186 passing yards.
Up next for the Redskins is the Baltimore Ravens. Their third preseason game, their performance in this contest should be a preview of what we'll see from the Redskins in the regular season.
