The New York Giants have a bunch of guys that probably won't make the team to thank for their 27-26 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 of the preseason.
After the starters and backups stunk up the field for three quarters, New York's third- and fourth-stringers went on to score all 27 of the Giants' points in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Ryan Nassib led a game-winning drive—that started at their own 14-yard line with less than four minutes to play—capping it off with a four-yard touchdown to Corey Washington with less than a minute remaining.
It was the third time this preseason Washington has caught a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, and the second time Nassib has thrown it.
The Colts absolutely dominated the majority of the game, which bodes well for their regular season. The offense looked smooth, the defense was ferocious and the special-teamers were opportunistic.
They just didn't win the game.
