This is just a simple comparison of top athletes in the basketball world vs. the top artists in the hip hop world.

These days, hip hop and athletics have become more and more closely related.

It's evident because you have basketball players who wish they could rap and rappers who wish they could play ball.

Both rappers and NBA players have peaks and valleys that are constant threw out there career.

We'll simply pair the hoop star to their rap star counterparts and let you judge whether or not they fit together.

Kobe and Kanye West

Just like his rap counterpart, he is after one ultimate goal and will do all the behind the scene work to get there.

They have a body of work that appropriately correspond to the swagger and huge ego they display.

Not liked by everyone due to the enormous amount of confidence they ooze, but have the drive to outlast all comers.

Veterans who are battle tested human beings.

Shaq and Jay Z

Battle tested, and they have the rings to prove it, they both are two of the most dominate players in their respectable fields.

Not out of necessity but out of sheer will of competition do they strive to prove that they still have what it takes to show there still the dominate player everyone thinks they are not.

With rejuvenated legs they plan to once again sit at the top of their game.

LeBron James and Drake

Riding high on expectations, they both step to those expectations with a grin on their face.

Possessing the talent to surpass the hype, and ready to climb every mountain.

With a solid body of work already, they are missing the one thing that will have their names spoken in the same breath as the greats.

A ring!

Or in drake case a couple platinum albums.

Dwight Howard and The Game

Young and determined, seamlessly going nose to nose with competitors, and eager to do so.

Been to the top and have fallen short, but still have the chance to return due to the youth and drive they poses.

Dwayne Wade and Ludacris

Often overlooked, but when talking about the top tier talent, there are few who do it better.

Whether it is an electrifying dunk or block, or a comical verse with that Luda swag, you always walk away wanting more.

Carmelo Anthony and Lil Wayne

On any given night or track they can come with that hall of fame game or song. But just like day and night, there are two sides to everything.

Just like they are capable of greatness, they are capable of stinking up the house.

Both young and with many years ahead they will one day be named with the greats.

Allen Iverson and 50 Cent

At their peak, no one could outshine their star.

Both now considered outcast, they cannot be denied the respect they deserve from their peak years.

Whether overcoming being shot nine times or overcoming being too small to be a franchise player. They are the poster children of “Never Give Up”.
