Spanish steeplechaser Victor Garcia's hopes of glory at the European Championships in Zurich were ended in brutal fashion in the qualifying round when he failed to fully clear a hurdle and faceplanted on the track.

Initially, there were fears for his health, and he was treated on site.

The good news is that he was eventually helped up to his feet, and he walked away from the track.

However, he misses out on the final.
