With the new Premier League season less than a week away, Tottenham remain in the market for several new players.

The pursuit of Mateo Musacchio enters a fourth week with seemingly no end in sight. Musacchio is likely the only one of Spurs' targets who would be a regular starter, though Mauricio Pochettino is also looking at a number of depth signings.

U.S. international DeAndre Yedlin appears poised to agree a move to Spurs. The right-back has reportedly travelled to London to complete the deal.

Netherlands winger Memphis Depay also remains a target but the move appears to have stalled.

This article will be updated throughout the week, so make sure to check back regularly to keep abreast of Spurs' transfer movements.

Spurs Moving for Roma Striker?

According to reports in Italy (H/T The Express), Spurs are already in negotiations to sign Roma striker Mattia Destro.

Destro made his Serie A debut for Genoa as a 19 year old in 2010 before transferring to Rome in 2012. He has a good scoring record since making the move, scoring 19 goals in 42 games. He started only 14 Serie A games last season and scored 13 goals.

Roma are something of a motivated seller, having spent big this summer in preparation for their return to the Champions League.

Football Italia suggest that Roma's sporting director, Walter Sabbatini, is already in London to finalise the move.

It should come as no surprise that this deal is moving smoothly, given the positive relationship that exists between the two clubs. Erik Lamela moved from Roma last season and before that Franco Baldini joined as sporting director.

Spurs are probably one striker short and have money to spend so this deal makes a lot of sense and suits all parties.

DeAndre Yedlin Move Agreed?

It has been heavily reported by outlets including BBC Sport that United States and Seattle Sounders full-back DeAndre Yedlin has agreed to a transfer to Tottenham, with Rob Draper of the Daily Mail suggesting a £2.75 million offer could seal the deal.

Yedlin's absence from the Seattle line-up against Houston Dynamo on Sunday could well be an indication that the deal is all but done.

Depay Deal Dragging on

Tottenham's pursuit of Memphis Depay seems no closer to being resolved following the PSV Eindhoven winger's recent comments.

Depay told NOS that fans must "wait and see" regarding his future (h/t TheSportReview.com).

The Dutchman showed his quality on his return to action for PSV in the Europa League last week, scoring and assisting in an impressive cameo from the bench

Despite the lack of action, Depay remains a target. This move could end up being a deadline day special.

Musacchio Move in Danger of Becoming Saga

When Villarreal agreed the signing of Valencia defender Victor Ruiz on Saturday, it appeared to be an indication that Mateo Musacchio's move to Spurs was imminent.

However, no confirmation has been forthcoming, and Tottenham's protracted pursuit of the Argentinian defender goes on.

The £17 million defender would be a worthy addition to Spurs' back line, but the deal threatens to break down over ownership issues, according to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail
