Bryce Harper has been struggling at the plate lately, but the Washington Nationals star came through when his team needed him against the New York Mets on Thursday.

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the 13th inning, Harper came up with a runner on first base and no outs. He sent Nationals fans home happy with a walk-off home run.

Harper's two-run shot gave Washington a 5-3 victory.

The outfielder received a well-deserved Gatorade bath:

The timing of Harper's walk-off home run could not have been better. It came just a day after Nationals manager Matt Williams had to shoot down the possibility of sending the star to the minors.
