The statute of limitations for this match expired well before Hogan's last back surgery, and if this match happened in 2014, it would be a tragedy.
At 61 years of age and with a history of back problems, Hogan can no longer take a bump. He can't even hit the Leg Drop—his iconic finisher. Following Jerry Lawler's heart scare from last year, it would behoove WWE to no longer permit 60-year-old wrestlers to compete, no matter how big the name.
Hogan vs. Cena would be the discount version of a main event, and its failure to deliver would hurt the legacy of both living legends.
Hogan has had a knack over the years to make bold statements that are more or less just talk. Let's hope his recent claims to the Matthew Aaron Show Podcast (h/t WrestlingInc.com) of "training like crazy" for one more match is just that.
