As a Lakers fan I hope my streak of correct predictions continue and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Jazz 4-1.

After watching game one of the series it was obvious that Houston had taken a lot of energy out of the Jazz team. Towards the end of the game they looked a lot more fatigued than a lot of the Laker players.

As predicted the Lakers swept the Denver Nuggets and did so quite convincingly. Having a 5 day break compared to Utah’s shorter break of 1 day after the series with Houston, definitely gave the Lakers the edge in game 1.

Game 2 is being played in LA, and with the home court advantage the Lakers should take it out in similar fashion to game 1.

Games 3 and 4 in Utah, and for the Jazz to have any chance of winning the series, they must win both games.

Despite having the best home record in the league, I still think the Lakers will win one of the two in Utah, and then win game 5 in LA to take the series.

During the regular season, LA was one of the very few teams to beat the Jazz on their home court. The Lakers won 106-95, without Pau Gasol who hadn’t yet been acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies.

It looks as though the Lakers will see the New Orleans Hornets in the Western Conference finals, so if they can win this series in five they will have a longer rest period.

  1. I read your preview article on the Lakers-Nuggets series and you were exactly right in predicting a
sweep. not many people did. I think the jazz will win two games but you seem to be the expert. we will soon see.

    1. Seems to be the expert? predicting one series makes an expert? he may in fact be correct but more data needed before we crown an expert. as for the nugget series, actually quite a few "experts" were calling for a sweep. the nuggets have two stars but no team chemistry. of course, the same "experts" also predicted a sweep in boston and for the mavericks, rockets, suns and wizards to advance. i do agree that a hornets-lakers match-up seems most likely at this point but i also think that the jazz are good enough at home to push it to six games. like you said, we shall see, that's why they play the games.

  2. im no expert mate. the jazz are more than capable of winning the series i just dont think they will. i think the could win two games at the most.

    1. Yeah........ I don't excactly think Jazz could even win two. Roughly (if even possible) they could win one. with Kobe so pumped about the whole MVP thing, and the lakers already being a good road team, there's a big possibility for another sweep. the lakers have a chance of being the only undefeated team in the post-season. They totally can sweep them.

    2. A sweep could happen but i think its unlikely with jazz having such a good home record. but still this lakers team is very could and capable of another sweep.

  3. I agree with your prediction, exactly what i was thinking.

    1. Well I guess we see the Prediction was wrong, and for those of you who want to make an excuse for Kobe and Turiaf grow up. Kobe made so many glory points as usual that it was obvious the only thing that was hurting was his pride. Kobe has never grown up, he came straight out of High School and has been given millions since then, but never matured and it shows in his play. Yeah he is a talented, arrogant, immature, rich kid that doesn't know how to behave like a man. I give the best example that when the Bulls played here in Utah and won the Championship, he and Jordan-don't even get me started on him, they both were spitting on the floor of the Arena and they broke Utah law and lit up cigars in the Arena, I wish the health department had cited them and prosecuted them for breaking the law. But that is par for immature kids with too much money that behave like Brats.

    2. What was the point of that comment rudy? And whats this crap about making excuses for kobe and turiaf.
Your just another Kobe hater jealous of his skill and his 3 rings. and dont use this site to brainwash people with your nonsense.
